Founder of Project ‘For All Sectors of Humanity’ (March 2024 – present)
An independent experimental initiative aimed at re-centering technology around care, dignity, and collective well-being, not just speed and scale. Exploring tools, language, and structures that might make tech feel more human and less extractive. A longterm ongoing attempt to shift the balance away from hype and toward stewardship. One experiment, essay, or conversation at a time.
• Prototyping tech in places big industry tends to ignore: menstruation, intimacy tech, emotion regulation for neurodivergent individuals.
• Facilitated on-going beginner friendly coding challenges with The Challengers. Designed as gentle spaces for re-igniting creative energy in a field often wired for high output and compressed timelines.

Founder of CitizenQ movement (June – August 2018)
Led design and workshops for local communities of 50+ attendees building open‑source DIY air pollution sensors tracking PM2.5 and PM10, built using accessible materials (PVC, microcontrollers, humidity/temperature sensors)
Generated air quality data points from grassroots locations, contributing to live mapping visibility of smog patterns and exposing hyperlocal pollution ‘hotspots’
Enhanced public understanding of air pollution through visual and sensor-based storytelling, enabling data-led advocacy in underrepresented areas

Resident Hacker – Project North Star @ NOALabs (April – November 2020)
Built and tested AR prototypes for interactive experience with 3D printing to produce physical prototypes and hardware interfaces
Managed version control and collaboration infrastructure using GitHub
Maintained technical systems and project continuity in an interdisciplinary and high-ambiguity environment

Book Reviewer, Freelance ( May 2024 – present)
Sounds official, but it started mid-COVID haze, when I was horizontal, somewhere between fatigue naps and feminist autofiction. I fell into NetGalley with a focus on queer lit, health epistemology, and anything that felt like it had bones. Two months in, a little badge showed up: Top Reviewer. I stared at it like it had grown legs. It took me almost a year (of “deliberation” or just lying on the floor) to admit I might actually be good at this.
Now I review books for real – still queer, still feminist, still prone to underlining sentences I can’t explain out loud.

Programmer & Developer — Conway’s Game of Life Projectibition (Feb – May 2018)
Designed and programmed an original visual system from scratch using Processing, based on Conway’s Game of Life cellular automaton rules
Created a generative animation exploring emergence and decay, translating algorithmic behavior into visual poetry
Recorded and edited a high resolution video output of the evolving system as a standalone art piece. Highlighting the intersection of computational logic and aesthetic form. Exhibited the final work at Vanke Cloud City & gave presentation on the project at Dimsum Lab, HK.

Maker Residency @ 3D Druckzentrum Ruhr, North Rhine-Westphalia Germany (Sep – Nov 2017)
Participated in an international artist residency focused on digital fabrication and 3D printing practices in two advanced masterclasses with:
• Anastasia Pistofidou – Biodesign and material experimentation through digital fabrication
• Nick Ervinck – Sculptural and conceptual approaches to large-scale 3D printed forms
Engaged in hands-on exploration of generative design, additive manufacturing, and the intersection of form, function, and fiction. Exhibited the work at final showcase.

British Council “Hello Shenzhen!” bilateral Maker Residency (2016 March)
Residency focused on repair culture and community tech, beginning with British Council briefings in Edinburgh and visits to local maker spaces in London, Cambridge and Sheffield
Observed a creative technology workshop designed for autistic participants – paid attention to sensory environment, group dynamics, and how care shows up in technical learning
Performed livecoded visuals in an Algorave with founder Yaxu, writing real-time code on stage to generate visuals in sync with algorithmic music

Space manager & Workshop facilitator at Litchee Lab (2015 June – 2016 March)
Taught hands-on workshops in carpentry and beginner-friendly coding, translating abstract
ideas into things people could touch, tweak, and take home.
Juggled diverse stakeholder expectations while maintaining an open environment for creative risk-taking and emergent ideas

Live translator/Interpreter (2012 – 2015)
Once shadowed a UCLA golf coach full-time for 3 months, translating drills, jokes, and awkward metaphors in real-time, on and off the green
Bounced between odd gigs: indie play transcript, business negotiation, spontaneous whisper-translation for visiting technologists. Known for capturing tone, not just words – whether it’s tender, technical, or someone rambling mid-panic in two languages at once

Brewrista @ Bionic Brew (2014 – 2015)
Served beer at the first craft beer company in Shenzhen, China with a side of startup energy, mixing hops and barley with a front-row seat to a local industry revolution

Instructor of Upcycling Workshop
SmartAir Workshop co-facilitator @ Shenzhen Green Drinks
Facilitator & Instructor of Carpentry Workshops
Market Research for AI Industries
Assistant Researcher for AQI Hardware Developer
Urban Villages and the Possibility of Art Happening (July 2017)

R2 Games International Customer Support, full-time (April 2014 – March 2015)

EF Teaching Assistant, part-time (October 2012 – June 2013)

Hollister Impact Team, part-time (October 2012 – June 2013)
